The Prologue to a very exciting Masters

This past weekend the Dell Match Play certainly was quite an exciting one.  We had some big names move farther into the tournament while some didn’t even make it to the elimination rounds. We even saw a rare match play between top names in the game. 

This also brings to mind the new format now where players will at least play 3 matches with everyone in the bracket your randomly chosen in,  the winner of your bracket moving on to the traditional match play brackets.






Now most players say they like this because it is more likely to get settled and make a comeback if you have a bad day or lose it all in one match. Never the less, it was an exciting tournament.  Jason day made quite a statement by winning his second tournament in a row and making him number 1 in the world.

All this is leading to quite an exciting Masters tournament, which is next week! How exciting it is getting here with spring in the air Masters around the corner, people are able to get out and swing the clubs and get their kinks out and some of the biggest names in golf coming into form for the years first major. Oh, and suppose I would be remiss, if I didn't say you can get GolfCamHD free now so that you can see your own progress this season. It is in the App store on Google Play for Android.

Jordan Spieth the defending champion is the only one people are kind of questionable about, He hasn’t really had a good showing since the years first tournament the Hyundai Tournament of Champions and that people have wondered why.  Many of his fellow colleagues and friends have publicly commented about how they are worried he is playing too much and he isn’t keeping himself sharp - not necessarily physically but mentally.

Golf can certainly take a toll on your head and your game, if you don’t rest properly. That’s why I hope for the future he learns why the best in the game pick and choose the events they want to play and how they will strategize their year to be fresh for the majors, WGC’s , and any other major tournaments throughout the year so they can always perform their best at the games highest level. Aside from that I hope Jordan finds something this week at the Shell Houston Open that will carry with him to the Masters so we can have an exciting back 9 on Sunday.
